A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let their journey begin..
As promised, here is the FC Week 2a material. We will go over this in depth during the class meeting today. For those of you who already know HOW to do the dreaded 3-Step Halt to AS (that will make sense this next week), please *NOTE* the FC Week 2 is now two full weeks. We have FC Week 2a and FC Week 2b.
This extra week gives new/learning students much needed time to acquire and practice these new mechanics. For you, new to KMODT students, I think Week 2 IS the hardest lesson as we move from LL to the 6' leash and the heeling mechanics. There is so much to learn, and it takes practice with Fido (your invisible dog) to develop these new mechanics and for them to become fluid and easy to do.
Remember, KMODT is an entirely new language of communication between you and your dog. KMODT is based on the dog's language, body language, and that language is what takes so much time, practice and patience in YOUR learning. Breathe, you WILL get this, just know this Week 2 feels mighty discombobulated, which is an appropriate word for this weeks' lesson.
Please review the Week 2 Glossary and Week 2 article on 'KMODT - Why IT Works' before class tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSee you then
